The superhumans Down under

Liquid were delighted to be asked again to create a title sequence for the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia.

The BBC wanted us to concentrate on the athletes and the emotional power of the event so our edit was constructed to follow the athletes on the journey from startline to victory, with all the highs and lows in between.

The event branding included lines of dots, drawn from Aboriginal art of the host nation so we adapted this element to visually represent the personal journeys of the athletes, integrating it subtly with the footage. This culminates with the key visual image and end shot with the lines of dots soaring dynamically over the Sydney skyscape.
